Susan Marie Sherman

Susan Marie Sherman, age 50, died December 10, 2020 at Ascension St. John Oakland Hospital in Madison Heights, Michigan. Susan was born June 8, 1970 in Detroit Michigan the daughter of Janet Louise (nee: Bioletti) Sommers, and the late Darwin Allen "Buck" Sommers.
Susan was raised in Sterling Heights and Troy. She attended Guardian Angels Catholic grade school and later graduated from Bishop Foley Catholic High School the graduating class of 1988.
Following her primary education Susan attended both Macomb Community College and Oakland Community College studying early childhood education. She later worked as a childcare teacher for Rainbow Rascals and Kiddie Academy. Unfortunately Susan work career ended prematurely due to the health effects of Multiple Sclerosis.
Susan was a kind and loving person who cared deeply for children even though she had no children of her own. She always put others before herself and became a second Mom to her her sister's children. During her life Susan was an avid reader with a wry sense of humor. Whenever she got laughing hard you always knew it was Susan's deep hearty laughter carrying throughout the room at a good joke.
Susan loved all animals and cherished her dog who recently predeceased her. Her mother remembers her fond memories of the summers spent up north at the cottage with Susan swimming and boating out on the water. Over the years whoever came to know Susan through work or friendship will remember a very kind, generous, and social-able soul.
Susan was the beloved daughter of Janet and the late Buck Sommers. She was the dearest sister of Michele (Jeff) Smalarz, and loving aunt of Ashley (Joel) Smith, and the late Christopher Sommers. Susan is further survived by her great nieces and nephews, Kilo Sommers, Areostotle Sommers, Cadence Sommers, Emery Anthony, Grayson Smith, and Addyson Smith. Susan was predeceased by her grandparents, Frank & Maxine Sommers, and John & Vivian Bioletti. Additionally many loving family members and friends survive to cherish Susan's memory.
A Memorial Mass for Susan will be held Wednesday January 6th, 2021, at St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 4571 John R Road in Troy, Michigan. Susan's family will receive friends and guests from 9am until the time of the Funeral Liturgy beginning at 10am.
