Theodore “Ted” Michael Konieczny, age 87, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026.
Born on January 14, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, Ted carried a strong work ethic and quiet kindness throughout his life. He worked as a skilled tool and die machinist for many years until his retirement, a trade he took great pride in. He earned his draftsman certification from Macomb Community College, expanding his expertise in the trade. He also honorably served his country in the National Guard.
Ted raised his family in Washington Township, Michigan, where he was a devoted husband and father. Later in life, he retired to Ellsworth, Michigan. There, he spent countless peaceful days fishing — his greatest passion — enjoying the beauty and serenity of northern Michigan.
A devoted Catholic, Ted was active in the Christian service organization through St Clement Catholic Church in Romeo, Michigan and lived his faith through his gentleness, humility, and generosity. He was known as the sweetest man, with a warm smile that made others feel instantly at ease. His quiet strength, steady presence, and loving heart defined him.
Ted was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Phyllis; his cherished granddaughter, Elisabeth; and his sister, Barbara.
He is lovingly survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Stuart) Salter; his son, Ted (Sara) Konieczny; his grandchildren, Abby and Jacob; and his brother, Roy (Linda) Konieczny.
Ted will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering love for his family, and the joy he found in faith and fishing.
