It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Thomas Paul Rozman on April 25, 2026.
Thomas was born on February 18, 1946, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Croatian immigrants Charles and Eleanor Rozman. He was one of seven siblings: Raymond, Bettie (Neale), Charles, Robert, Lawrence, Joanne (Risi), and Thomas himself. Together, their family has grown to 59 descendants, with one more on the way. Family was the greatest joy and highlight of Thomas’s life.
Thomas was a man of many achievements. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Detroit and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Wayne State University. He was a licensed professional engineer and received notable honors including Young Engineer of the Year and Engineer of the Year from the Michigan Society of Professional Engineers (MSPE), where he also served as president. He later founded his own consulting firm, Rozman Consultants.
Beyond his professional life, Thomas was an avid gardener whose landscaping was admired throughout his neighborhood. He was also an award-winning wedding photographer. As a member of Toastmasters, he mastered humorous speech and was well-loved for his sharp wit and memorable one-liners.
Thomas married Kathleen (Kay) Walsh on April 30, 1971. He was incredibly proud of his three children—Michael, Brian, and Julie—and cherished the close bonds within his family. He joyfully welcomed Jeffrey Oles, who married his daughter Julie, as well as Tracy Timmerman, who married his son Michael, both of whom he loved dearly.
In his role as Papa, Thomas found great happiness in the lives of his grandchildren Lily (23), Ethan (21), Nicholas (14), and Alayna (10), treasuring the strong relationships they shared.
With the only two Croatian words he knew, we say “Laku Noć Tom!” (Good Night, Tom!)
