Walt Danek of Rochester Hills, Michigan, passed peacefully at his home on September 11th, 2025 at the age of 87, surrounded by family and loved ones. Born on July 20, 1938 in Windsor, Ontario Canada, to Paulina and Philip Danek, Walt enjoyed boating, traveling and his love of the outdoors took him to all 50 states and almost every province of Canada. Walt loved to garden, and his home in Rochester Hills is surrounded by magnificent flower gardens. He cherished his grandchildren and spent many wonderful weekends camping and exploring Michigan and Canada with them. He said that was one of his greatest gifts.
Walter will be remembered by all who knew him as a wonderful, generous person and a friend who enjoyed life to the fullest to the very end.
Walt was married to the late Carol Bradt Danek and the two were loving parents to James (Lynn) Danek, Kenneth (Robin) Danek and Lori Danek. Walt was also a loving husband to the late Sharon Miles Danek and, after Sharon’s passing, partner and companion to Alice Hodder.
