William Walter Lemier, known fondly as Bill or Beamer, passed away peacefully on the evening of Sunday, April 19, 2026. Born to Jean and the late Willis “Bill,” he was deeply connected to his family and carried the memory of his father close throughout his life.
Beamer was raised in Hazel Park, Michigan, alongside his two sisters, Monique and Heather. Although his roots were in Hazel Park, his heart was firmly anchored by his grandparents, the late Walter and Dottie Hayden of Ferndale, Michigan, who played a central role in his upbringing. They instilled in him the values of hard work and the importance of caring for those you love—principles that guided him throughout his life.
A proud graduate of Hazel Park High School’s Class of 1984, Beamer was an integral part of a close-knit group of friends known as “The Motley Crew.” These formative years helped shape the grit and determination that defined his character.
An outdoorsman at heart, Beamer found joy in hunting, fishing, camping, and exploring nature with family and friends. He was rarely without his dirt bike, always eager to seek out new trails and adventures.
During this time, he met Wendy, and together they started their life in Hazel Park, eventually welcoming their children, Lyndsy and Billy Jr. Though their home was in Hazel Park, Beamer’s spirit was drawn northward. He often spoke of Evart as his true home, referring to his years spent there as “like heaven.”
Beamer was a man of many talents and a strong work ethic, dedicating his professional life to roles as a skilled machinist and landscaper. He was always industrious and was known for his sharp mind, especially when helping family with math and numbers.
Later, Beamer embraced a new chapter by moving north to the Evart area, near the river he loved so dearly. There, he found a sense of belonging among the Jokers, a brotherhood that became like family to him, standing by his side through the years.
His legacy of resourcefulness, loyalty, and profound love for the outdoors continues to live on in his children, Lyndsy and Billy Jr., and his beloved granddaughter, Freya. Beamer took great pride in seeing the same adventurous spirit and connection to nature reflected in the next generation.
He spent his final days in Macomb County, surrounded by his loving family—Lyndsy, Aaron, Freya, and Billy Jr.—as he faced a challenging medical journey with quiet strength and unwavering dignity.
While his heart always belonged to the North, those who knew him take comfort in knowing that he has returned at last to the place he lovingly called heaven.
William “Beamer” Lemier’s life was marked by loyalty, resilience, and a deep connection to family and nature. He will be remembered with great affection and respect by all who were fortunate to know him.
