William Donald Skeltis

July 27, 1937 — July 3, 2025

Howell, Michigan

William “Bill” Donald Skeltis, 87, of Howell, MI, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 3, 2025. Born on July 27, 1937, in Jerome, Pennsylvania, Bill lived a life full of dedication and warmth, leaving behind a legacy of love and service.

Throughout his career, Bill held various positions, but he found his calling as a mechanic for the Pepsi Cola Bottling Company, where he worked diligently until his retirement in 2003. His commitment to his work was matched only by his passion for life outside of his profession.

Bill cherished the simple pleasures of life, often reveling in the beauty of nature right in his own backyard. He had a particular fondness for observing the local wildlife, especially the birds and deer that frequented his property. His love for the outdoors extended to working on his tractor, ensuring that his land remained a place of beauty and joy. An avid bowler, Bill enjoyed spending time at the lanes with his beloved wife, Anne, participating in various leagues over the years. In retirement, he discovered a new passion for golf, frequently visiting courses in the area and taking part in several golf leagues, where his enthusiasm for the sport truly blossomed.

Bill was also an active member of his community, involving himself deeply in church activities and participating in excursions with fellow members. His spirit of camaraderie and kindness touched the lives of many.

He is survived by his children, William Skeltis Jr., Joseph (Margie) Skeltis, Lesa Harris, and Vanessa North. His legacy continues with his grandchildren: Cassie Smith, Ryan Skeltis, Caleb Skeltis, Kodi Skeltis, Logan Skeltis, and Jacob Harris, as well as his great-grandchild, Teyana Smith, and great-great-grandson, A’Neko Smith. Bill also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife, Anne L. Thompson, whom he married on October 6, 1973. Their bond lasted 42 joyous years until her passing. He is also mourned by his parents, Tony and Mary Skeltis; his brothers, John and Anthony Skeltis; his sister, Louise Tymenski; and his son, Jeffery Skeltis.
